Mobile App for the Committee of the Regions

The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is the voice of regions and cities in the European Union. It represents local and regional authorities across the European Union and advises on new laws that have an impact on regions and cities (70% of all EU legislation).

The CoR works to bring citizens closer to the EU by involving regional and local representatives who are in daily contact with their electorate's concerns. By inviting citizens to participate in events and debates, the CoR contributes to reducing the gap between the EU institutions' work and the public.

In order to widen its communication channels with EU citizens, the CoR decided to launch a mobile application.

Approach

Collect business needs and functional requirements,analyse available data and existing data flows:

• Organise sessions to clarify the business needs and gather requirements.
• Analise the data sources and flows of the existing digital ecosystem.

Design and implement the mobile solution in line with the CoR’s needs:

• A solution to collect, transform, consolidate and represent data according to the collected requirements.
• Design and implement the app for publication according to the CoR’s guidelines and EP standards.

Results

An app for iOS and Android that provides EU citizens with detailed information about all Members and Alternates of the CoR. Customisable real-time notifications about news, events and opinions on preferred topics.
