Website extension for the House of European History

Client

The House of European History (HEH) is a history museum and cultural institution in Brussels.

As an exhibition centre, the HEH intends to promote the understanding of European history and integration through a permanent exhibition and temporary and travelling exhibitions. The museum houses a collection of objects and documents; It also organises educational programmes and cultural events? and produces publications and a wide range of online content.

The HEH’s website needed to be extended to keep up with the museum’s growing content and organisational evolution.

Approach

Perform AS-IS and TO-BE analyses of the existing website and its underlaying components:

• Clarify the technical and security needs and define the requirements in workshops.
• Define the structure of the future website with the security restrictions in mind.

Design and implement the required website extensions:

• Create a simulation environment for efficient development, testing and acceptance activities.
• Design and implement the required extensions within the project deadlines.
• Migrate the final solution from the simulation to the production environment.

Results

• We leveraged our project management and technological expertise to plan, design and successfully implement the required changes.
• The testing phase was productively performed in the simulation environment.
